Balance billing can happen when you can’t control who is involved in your care — like in an emergency, or when you schedule at an in-network facility but are unexpectedly treated by an out-of-network provider. The most that the provider or facility may bill you is your plan’s in-network cost-sharing amount (such as copayments and coinsurance). You cannot be balance-billed for these kinds of services. Faster and Safer Refunds Are Here
At AdventHealth, we’re committed to making your financial experience as seamless and transparent as your care. Starting December 8, 2025, we’re introducing a new refund process in partnership with PNC Bank, providing you with more flexibility and convenience. If you're due a refund, you’ll no longer have to wait for a paper check. Instead, you can choose from secure, faster options, including:
Digital payment via Zelle®, PayPal or Venmo
Direct deposit to your bank account
Refund to your debit card
International patient refunds will still be delivered as checks.
Why This Matters
A faster delivery of your refund means more control over how you receive your funds. This improves your security and reduces the risk of losing or delaying checks.
How It Works
If you’re eligible for a refund, you’ll receive a secure email from PNC Bank with instructions to select your preferred refund method. No action is needed until you receive that email.
For additional information, call 855-241-2455 (855-AH1-BILL). Our advisors are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 7 pm (EST).
We're always seeking ways to improve your experience with AdventHealth.
