Never Underestimate the Human Spirit

This year's Women’s History Month recognizes team members who empower others and break down barriers to help people reach their full potential under the theme “Women Who Advocate for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion."

As chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer, Jessica Brazier works closely with leaders across the organization to create an inclusive environment of care in which everyone can thrive – team members, patients, and the community.

Like many, her journey has evolved over the years. Early in her career, she was a journalist and found passion in storytelling and bringing others' stories to light. She realized that in doing so, she could help make a difference in the communities she was serving. More than anything, she wanted to change the outcomes of the stories she was telling and pursued a career in public policy and management. Eventually, her focus led her to health care, noting that in order for a person to reach their highest potential, their whole self must be cared for: body, mind and spirit.
