AdventHealth Orlando is one of America’s finest destinations for the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the organs that comprise the urinary tract, including the adrenal glands, male reproductive organs, ureters, urethra and urinary bladder. We are regarded as a world leader in robotic, prostate-cancer surgery and offer a wide array of minimally invasive, surgical options that greatly reduce pain, scarring and recovery times. We provide comprehensive care for some of the most complex urological conditions including bladder cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, incontinence, sexual dysfunctions and urinary tract infections.

AdventHealth Urology Care

Robotic Surgery and Technology

Our program offers advanced training in both state-of-the-art simulation facilities and the latest da Vinci® robotic platforms. Residents gain high-volume exposure to the da Vinci SP® system, enabling single-port, minimally invasive procedures with improved patient outcomes and faster recovery.

Training is further enhanced on the da Vinci 5® platform, which integrates real-time video, case insights, and surgeon feedback with built-in learning modules to support skill development and progressive mastery of surgical techniques.

Residency Research

Residents in our program are supported in producing meaningful research that advances the field of urology and is presented at major national and international meetings.

Training is enriched by the Nicholson Center’s state-of-the-art simulation and research facilities, including robotic platforms, procedural labs, and dedicated innovation spaces. Through diverse opportunities in clinical, translational, and technology-focused research, residents graduate not only as skilled surgeons, but as future leaders in academic urology.

Visting Student Learning Opportunities

The AAMC Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) program allows medical and public health students to pursue short-term educational experiences outside their home institutions, including clinical rotations, away electives, research opportunities, and observerships.

Applicant Information

Eligibility
  • A personal statement and minimum of 3 letters of recommendation from a urology program director or department chair, and a urology faculty member who worked closely with the applicant.
  • USMLE score 240 step 2CK – Scores less than 240 will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • ECFMG certificate for IMGs
  • Fluency of written and spoken English
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine diploma awarded without reservations
  • Proof of US Citizenship or appropriate visa status (AdventHealth HR requirement)

A. Interviews will be held virtually.

Q. Will you have an open house or second look?

A. We plan to host an in-person open house for applicants selected to interview. The event will be held at AdventHealth Orlando Main Campus and attendance is optional.

Q. Do you require previous research or work experience?

A. Previous research and work experience is preferable.
