The Diabetes Care You Need
- Understand Your Risk for Diabetes
Nearly 80-million people in America have prediabetes. But many don’t know it. Unfortunately, if prediabetes is left untreated, it often leads to type 2 diabetes. That’s why we put diabetes education at the heart of our approach to diabetes care at AdventHealth Tampa, formerly Florida Hospital Tampa. The more you know, the healthier you can live.
Led by a team of certified diabetes educators and dietitians, our programs and resources teach you how to manage diabetes and avoid emotional and physical complications. Our diabetes education program was the first in the Tampa Bay region to be recognized by The American Diabetes Association as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
If needed, we can also order a screening test to see whether you have prediabetes, and then recommend a plan to help you manage it and keep the disease from progressing.
