Put Your Donation to Work Help Us Provide High Quality Healthcare
Talk to us about how giving can support your personal goals. We can work with you to find a way that is most convenient for you. Some establish a monthly gift giving plan, others have a long-term philanthropic plan, and many like to make a one-time donation or create a legacy by donating to the AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation after their lifetime. All gifts can be restricted or unrestricted based on the donor's wishes.
About the Foundation
The AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation has a longstanding tradition of supporting and improving the health and wellness of our community. We are proud to carry our momentum forward into the next phase of our hospital’s future. Through Ransom Memorial Health’s transition to AdventHealth Ottawa, the Ransom Memorial Hospital Charitable Association Board of Directors has decided to do business as The AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation.
The AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation is still an independent 501(c)(3) organization, and 100% of all donations will stay in the Franklin County community. The mission of the Foundation is to inspire philanthropy in our community to support the healing mission of AdventHealth Ottawa.
Funds raised by the foundation will support the purchase of new, updated equipment for Ottawa facilities that provide direct care to members of our community. Programs that will have a life-changing, positive impact on the overall health of the patients we serve can also benefit from your donation.
There Is No Donation Too Small Discover Ways to Give to the AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation
When it comes to giving, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. We work diligently with individuals and organizations to discover ways they can make a meaningful difference through their gifts of time, talent and treasure to our organization.
- Volunteer
-
Our strength lies in our volunteers! And we have one of the most active and well‐organized Auxiliaries in the state of Kansas. They are truly dedicated to the hospital and the Auxiliary, and give freely of themselves and their time. For the last several years, an average of 100 active volunteers have contributed around 18,000 hours of their time, serving in all areas of the hospital.
The gift shop is the Auxiliary’s primary source of income, however, the funding is also supported through Tiny Treasures (baby pictures), candy/nut sales, book sales, linen sales, and scrub/uniform sales. Dollars raised are donated back to the hospital through the purchase of hospital equipment, contributions to new and expanded facilities, or to provide scholarships to Franklin County healthcare students.
Types of Membership
- The Associate and Business Memberships are for those persons/businesses unable to volunteer within the hospital setting, but who want to be a part of the organization.
- The Active Membership is for persons who want to be directly involved with the volunteer services offered within the hospital setting.
Whatever your schedule is, there is a place for you to volunteer at AdventHealth Ottawa. If you would be interested in joining and/or volunteering please contact the Director of Volunteer Services at 785-229‐8231 for more information or fill out our Volunteer Application.

- Retirement Plans
-
A tax-deferred retirement plan (IRA, 401(k), 403(b), etc.) is an excellent way to provide for your retirement years and reflects wise financial planning. However, much of the remaining principal value can be highly taxed upon death when a natural heir or other person is named as a beneficiary. Selecting the AdventHealth Ottawa Foundation as the beneficiary can help avoid those high taxes while leaving other, lower-taxed assets to family members.Minimum required distributions can also be directed to the Foundation. Review the options with your financial or legal advisor and contact your plan administrator for the required beneficiary designation and distribution forms.

If you donate a work of art or other tangible personal property that can be used or sold by the Foundation, you can receive a charitable deduction and may be able to reduce future estate taxes. Review the options with your financial or legal advisor. Restrictions apply.
