N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Implements Comprehensive Reopening Plan to Safely Resume Important Health Services

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., May 1, 2020 – AdventHealth Hendersonville is taking specific measures to ensure the safety of team members, medical staff and patients as it brings the hospital and physician offices back online.

On May 4, 2020, AdventHealth Hendersonville will resume surgical services and diagnostic exams at its hospital campus and AdventHealth Medical Group facilities will resume in-office procedures. Throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic, AdventHealth Medical Group has maintained regular care appointments through traditional and new Telehealth appointments.

“We want nothing more than to fully reopen our doors and take care of our whole community, including those who may have postponed their care as they quarantined at home. To do that, we have taken steps to ensure the safety of everyone coming to our hospital and physician offices for surgeries and in-office procedures and other care,” said Teresa Herbert, MD, MPH, FAAP, AdventHealth Hendersonville Chief Medical Officer.

As plans to reopen take shape, AdventHealth Hendersonville is complying with the county, state and federal government and maintaining COVID-19 readiness with adequate levels of personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, staffing and bed capacity.

AdventHealth is also taking several steps to safeguard patients, team members and communities. These include requiring everyone to wear masks; continuing with its current visitor restrictions; conducting rapid COVID-19 testing and ongoing surveillance for patients, team members and medical staff; performing temperature screenings on everyone entering its facilities; modifying access points and following social distancing guidelines in waiting rooms, reception areas and elevators; implementing registration and waiting in patient vehicles for certain appointments; instituting new deep-cleaning procedures; and cohorting COVID-19 patients.

“We are operating in a new environment, but our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ has not changed. Keep Me Safe is the first of our service standards as we foster wholeness for the people we serve and to ensure our communities are healthier because we are here. We look forward to caring for all the members of our community and encourage anyone who has delayed a medical test or procedure to follow up with their personal physician or call our Patient Resource Team at Call855-774-5433,” said Christy Sneller, AdventHealth Hendersonville Vice President of Physician Services.
