N.C., AdventHealth Hendersonville Announces Inaugural Winner of the Sunflower Award

Jan. 6, 2021; HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – AdventHealth Hendersonville is thrilled to announce the first recipient of the Sunflower Award, awarded quarterly to a certified nursing assistant for exceptional service. Amanda Dyer, CNA, works on the Intensive Care Unit at AdventHealth Hendersonville and was nominated for her proactive approach to work and contributions as a team member, including helping implement the proning process, an important intervention for treating patients with COVID-19 at the hospital.

“Amanda always goes over and above what is expected of her,” states her nominator, Staci Jackson, BSN, RN. “She exhibits all of our service standards and keeps us all laughing with her wonderful sense of humor. I always know we will have a good day at work when I see [Amanda] walk in. She provides more support to the nursing staff than I have ever experienced. She is top notch and I value her greatly!”

AdventHealth Hendersonville established the quarterly Sunflower Award to recognize certified nursing assistants who commit to striving for excellence in their profession; consistently deliver patient-centered, whole-person care with integrity; embrace the opportunity to learn and grow; and integrate change to improve the health and well-being of patients, family members and guests while Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
