Leaders at AdventHealth Carrollwood unveiled a newly expanded spine and orthopedic unit, enhancing it with an additional 16-beds. The $5 million project provides additional space and allows orthopedic experts to reduce patient recovery time. meet the growing need for high quality spine and orthopedic care.

facilities in the Tampa Bay area,” said Erika Skula, CEO at AdventHealth Carrollwood. “This surgical expansion project will not only enhance the current services offered by our expert team but allow us to fulfill the growing needs of this community and beyond.”
The 16,000 square-foot unit expansion will continue to allow our world class surgeons to use emerging technology and elevate patient experience.
“We look forward to using the advanced space to help care for patients who undergo complex spine and orthopedic procedures and to continue to elevate patient outcomes,” said Dr. John Small, Vice Chief of Staff at AdventHealth Carrollwood and a board-certified and fellowship trained spine surgeon with Florida Orthopedic Institute. “Expanding the orthopedic unit to be closer to multidisciplinary areas allows us to strengthen our ability to seamlessly provide high quality care for all patients.”
AdventHealth Carrollwood is recognized throughout the Gulf Coast of Florida for its specialized spine and orthopedic expert care. According to the Joint Commission, AdventHealth Carrollwood is Tampa Bay’s only facility with a Joint Commission Certified Spine Surgery Program.
Additionally, AdventHealth Carrollwood received its 13th consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the prestigious Leapfrog Group and a 5-star CMS Rating, the highest rating possible for hospital quality from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
