Becoming a hospital volunteer is a great way to broaden your skills and knowledge in a hospital setting, expand your resume and give back to your community while exploring new career opportunities. To show our appreciation for your service, we offer multiple volunteer benefits, including:
- Complimentary flu shots
- Complimentary initial and annual tuberculosis (TB) tests (must be at least 18; minors must receive tests from their doctor)
- Complimentary meal with each four-hour shift

Our Hospital Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an integral part of our care team at AdventHealth Carrollwood. They help us by serving in a variety of roles to enhance the patient and guest experience at our entrance or in various patient care areas.

Patient and Visitor Liaison Volunteer
These volunteers assist our concierge team with welcoming patients and visitors, ensuring COVID-19 safety measures are followed and escorting guests to their destination.

Patient Experience Ambassador Volunteer
In this role, volunteers assist our professional teams by conducting patient rounding to enhance the patient and family experience in various care settings.

Outpatient Department Support Volunteer
This role involves assisting with administrative tasks like stocking supplies, sanitizing equipment, answering telephones and assembling paperwork.
How to Become a Hospital Volunteer
We invite teens (ages 16 and 17), college students and adults to volunteer at our hospital. When you’re ready to get started, these are the steps to take:
- Complete our online volunteer application
- Interview with our Volunteer Services team
- Complete a background check
- Complete a health screening (drug and TB tests and immunization records review)
- Receive an assigned start date, shirt and badge
- Complete your volunteer orientation
- Receive a free annual flu vaccine (required for all volunteers and available October through March)

Your Experience Matters — Help Us Make a Difference
We're forming a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at AdventHealth Carrollwood. This council will consist of a group of former or current patients, family members and hospital administration or staff.
Together, we'll share insights, offer feedback and help shape the initiatives that enhance the care we provide each day. Feedback from the council helps improve hospital operations and patient safety and satisfaction, along with employee engagement and well-being.
If you're interested in joining PFAC, please complete the application below. Ideal candidates are:
- Comfortable speaking openly and respectfully
- Able to offer constructive feedback
- Willing to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds
Members of PFAC are asked to maintain active membership for at least a year. Monthly meetings are one-hour sessions hosted on hospital property.
You’ll receive orientation and training on the mission and goals of AdventHealth Carrollwood and the advisory council, as well as hospital regulatory and privacy issues.
