Spring is a time for new beginnings, but your grief can make this time seem burdensome and heavy.
At AdventHealth Hospice Care Central Florida, we recognize the great pain of losing a loved one and believe no one should grieve alone.
In January, Horizons Bereavement Center introduced a new support group called Anticipatory Grief Support for Caregivers. This program offers caregivers help and mental health support as soon as they walk through our doors. Meetings are facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who discusses topics such as:
Stress management to balance conflicting demands
Coping with loss when a diagnosis is given
Self-care and replenishing oneself as an essential need while caring for a loved one
Your generous donation helps provide emotional, physical and spiritual support to caregivers as soon as their loved one begins receiving hospice care. You are an essential part of our family, because your gift makes everything we do possible.
One group facilitator, Sandra, has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over a decade. She saw the need for this new support group. “There are people who have been providing care for a long time and are suddenly looking at changes in their loved one’s treatment,” Sandra shares. “Some caregivers don’t realize that they’ve been grieving all along.”
Your generosity enables us to provide comprehensive, world-class care to hospice patients and their families. We wholeheartedly thank you for your continuous support as we deliver end-of-life care with compassion, honesty and dignity.
