ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Every day, more than 1,500 AdventHealth Supply Chain and Business Services team members work behind the scenes with more than 3,000 suppliers to support how AdventHealth patients receive care. From delivering the right products to caregivers, to ensuring reliable access to care, to integration of emerging technologies to strengthen operations, the team’s dedication promises high-quality care and value in every community that AdventHealth serves.
AdventHealth’s recent recognition in the 17th annual Gartner Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25 ranking shows the efforts underway to help keep this promise, so that patients and families can rely on its caregivers to deliver excellent clinical care, at the right time, and with the right resources.
“This recognition reflects the dedication that our supply chain teams, caregivers, and partners bring to work every day,” said Marisa Farabaugh, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer for AdventHealth. “It demonstrates a willingness to work together differently to deliver on our mission while keeping our patients at the center of every decision.”
Gartner’s analysis of U.S. health systems’ supply chains uncovered industrywide themes that focus on clinical collaboration, maximizing value, and accelerating digital transformation. The business technology and insights company highlighted multiple initiatives led by the AdventHealth Supply Chain and Business Service team, in line with each theme, including:
- Supply chain resiliency: To ensure access to care for its patients, AdventHealth strengthened supply chain resiliency through its Consolidated Service Center, deepening its collaboration with Medline. Additionally, safeguards were put in place to protect temperature-sensitive medicines and vaccines during power outages. These steps protect lifesaving treatments so that they are available when people need them most.
- AI-powered operations: AdventHealth is using its AI-driven Resource Advanced Decision-making (RAD) platform to bring greater clarity and coordination to supply chain operations. By aligning inventory decisions with patient care needs and facility demand, support becomes more efficiently helping to create a better experience for patients.
- Improving patient experience: AdventHealth’s Pharmacy team supports more than 100,000 AdventHealth Health Plan members through its mail-order pharmacy. By bringing its copay assistance program in-house, eligible members now receive savings automatically with no enrollment required. This simplifies service, reduces barriers, and helps members access the medications they depend on.
- Supply chain sustainability: AdventHealth recognizes the relationship between caring for people and caring for the environment. To support healthier communities, the team refined emissions tracking with supplier-level data and is partnering on sustainability projects with up to four suppliers. These collaborations help to embed sustainability into supply chain operations.
- Talent and leader development: To develop the next generation of supply chain leaders, AdventHealth introduced a dedicated supply chain track within its Leadership Residency Program, offering hands-on experience across key functions. The program maintains a 100% placement rate, reinforcing its commitment to developing strong leaders who carry its mission forward.
Gartner’s ranking blends quantitative measures, operational performance, and risk management with peer and analyst review. AdventHealth has held the top ranking for two consecutive years.
