New orthopedic provider expands access to compassionate care for families in WNC

AdventHealth is welcoming Beth Mitchell, PA-C, an experienced orthopedic provider bringing warm, whole-person care to patients across Haywood County and the surrounding Western North Carolina region.

Mitchell joins AdventHealth | Southeastern Orthopedics and Spine at Haywood* with seven years of orthopedic experience, along with three years in family and emergency medicine. This allows her to care for both sudden injuries and chronic joint concerns with confidence and compassion. A former NCAA Division I athlete, she brings a personal understanding of sports-related injuries and enjoys helping people of all ages stay active and connected to the activities they love.

She says the decision to join AdventHealth came quickly once she experienced the kindness of the team. “From my first interactions, I felt a genuine warmth,” she said. “The faith-based mission is lived out every day, and I’m grateful to be part of a team that cares so deeply for the whole person.”

Mitchell is also excited to support AdventHealth’s efforts to make orthopedic care easier to access for the region. With extensive experience in orthopedic urgent care, including independently covering high-volume walk-in clinics and helping develop care protocols, she is well-prepared to expand convenient musculoskeletal care close to home for people in Haywood and surrounding counties.

“My passion is helping people get answers and relief when they need it most,” Mitchell shared. “Offering more immediate orthopedic care here in Clyde means our neighbors won’t have to travel far or wait long when they’re hurting.”

Her approach to care begins with listening. Mitchell wants every patient to feel heard, respected and supported as they understand their diagnosis and explore treatment options. She provides care for both acute and chronic orthopedic concerns, including casting and splinting, corticosteroid injections and X-ray interpretation. Her background as an athlete also allows her to guide patients through effective stretches and strengthening exercises tailored to their needs.

Outside of work, Mitchell and her family are embracing life in Western North Carolina. She and her husband, Trevor, enjoy exploring local restaurants, hiking and spending time outdoors with their children, Ace and Ivy, and their dogs, Chloe and Brick. “This region is beautiful, and the community has been so welcoming,” she said. “We already feel at home.”

Mitchell’s athletic experience includes playing Division I basketball at the University at Buffalo and being inducted into her high school’s athletic hall of fame for basketball, tennis and track and field – experiences that continue to shape the way she supports patients working toward recovery and renewed confidence.

AdventHealth welcomes Mitchell’s experience, compassion and dedication to whole-person healing. Her presence strengthens orthopedic care for families throughout Western North Carolina and reflects AdventHealth’s commitment to making high-quality care convenient, personal and rooted in kindness.
