AdventHealth has opened a new Primary Care+ location in the heart of downtown DeLand, giving residents a simple way to get everyday care close to where life happens. The primary care practice offers same-day and next-day appointments, extended hours and a welcoming setting designed to support whole-person health.
Recent community research shows that many residents want clearer, easier ways to begin their care. The findings also point to common obstacles, including uncertainty about where to go first and challenges moving between services, which can leave people without timely support.
AdventHealth Primary Care+ responds to those challenges by giving people a dependable primary care home that’s easier to reach and simpler to use. The downtown clinic offers the full range of primary care services, along with evening and weekend hours, so families and working professionals can manage their health without navigating a maze of appointments or locations.
“This location gives people a nearby place to turn to with a care team focused on helping them manage their everyday health care needs,’ said Robert Paswaters COO of Retail Services. “It’s designed to be an easy way to access their health care provider on their schedule – giving people a trusted and convenient way to connect to the full resources of our system when more specialized care is needed.”
The new practice is part of a broader effort to expand access to primary care across West Volusia. Capacity at Victoria Medical Park recently doubled, and plans are underway for a new medical office building on a 17-acre site in south-central DeLand that will bring additional services closer to thousands of families.
Khelsea Bauer, CEO of AdventHealth DeLand, said the downtown location strengthens the network of care available to the community.
“People want care that fits naturally into their day,” Bauer said. “Having Primary Care+ right in the center of town helps make that possible. It gives our neighbors a place they can count on for guidance, quick care and a team who will walk with them through their health journey.”
The new Primary Care+ is located at 225 South Woodland Blvd., DeLand. Appointments can be scheduled online or through the AdventHealth app.
