Support Groups and Programs
As a caregiver, you have an ever-growing to-do list, but you aren’t alone. Whether it’s keeping you up to date on treatments or helping you schedule appointments, our team is ready to rally around you.
What to Expect as a Caregiver
As a caregiver, you’re an essential member of our patient care team. You know your loved one best and can help our teams discuss and design the best care plan for their needs.
Caregiver responsibilities often include:
- Communicating between family and members of the medical team, including physicians, schedulers and insurance representatives
- Helping patients maintain their home care, including proper hygiene maintenance, medication adherence and at-home exercises
- Joining patients for appointments related to their care
- Keeping meals healthy and fridges stocked with nutritious items
- Managing finances, if needed
- Providing daily companionship and post-surgery support
Caring for a loved one who is dependent on you is a noble and often taxing responsibility. Caregivers should make sure they are also taking the time to tend to their own whole-person health. That means staying physically well, as well as finding spiritual and emotional support.
