COOK WELL, FEEL WHOLE – HANDS-ON

Eating well becomes easier and much more enjoyable when you know how to choose and cook food for your body that makes you feel as good as it tastes. Join Lisa Markley, MS, RDN, in the kitchen for hands-on cooking lessons where she will provide step-by-step guidance to help you prepare quick, easy plant-forward meals that satisfy your taste buds and your health goals. Come to this class ready to get in on the action where Lisa will guide you hands-on through making the following dishes.

Instructor Bio:

As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and practitioner of Culinary Medicine, Lisa Markley integrates the art of preparing, cooking, and presenting food with the science of medicine to optimize overall wellness. She combines the enjoyment of food with the scientific knowledge of how food and dietary choices may influence our metabolism, immune function, and the development of chronic diseases.

Lisa joined the AdventHealth Whole Health Institute in 2020 as the Director of Culinary Medicine where she develops educational programs with an emphasis on culinary medicine/nutrition and provides one-on-one nutrition consults. She has also been an adjunct nutrition instructor at Johnson County Community College since 2016.

During her time as a dietitian and culinary educator, Lisa has taught hundreds of cooking and nutrition classes and is passionate about educating and empowering others how to harness the healing power of food and healthful lifestyle changes.
