AdventHealth in Kansas City serves more than 70,000 patients in its emergency departments annually, has the area's first accredited Chest Pain Emergency Center and delivers more babies each year at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission than any other hospital in the metropolitan area. The network employs more than 3,300 local residents and supports an exceptional staff of 700 physicians representing 50 medical specialties, the largest medical staff of any full-service hospital in Kansas City.

It started with a simple idea back in 1962: Provide quality health care for residents of growing Johnson County. More than 50 years later, AdventHealth, formerly known as Shawnee Mission Health, has expanded its reach and draws patients from throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area and around the Midwest. AdventHealth Medical Group consists of a network of physician practices conveniently located throughout Johnson, Clay, Jackson, Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Platte counties; serving both Kansas and Missouri. AdventHealth Medical Group offers a wide range of specialties including Cardiology, Endocrinology and Diabetes, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, OB Hospitalists, Occupational Medicine, Psychiatry, Pulmonology and Urgent Care.

AdventHealth Medical Group currently employs approximately 150 physicians and Advanced Practice Providers throughout its practices and understands the importance of partnering with physicians and the hospital. AdventHealth Medical Group continues to add specialties needed to support a large primary care base.
