Simply the Best Q4 2018

February 15, 2019 — AdventHealth Manchester proudly named David Cotton (non-clinical) and Effie Wilder (clinical) as Simply the Best employees for the fourth quarter of 2018.

Effie and David were recognized for their positive attitudes, helpful nature, and exemplifying our services standards: Love Me, Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, and Own It. Both are true examples of our mission to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ.

Mary Roberts, AdventHealth Home Care Administrator, said, “Effie goes above and beyond caring for her patients. She prays with them, being a Home Care CNA she takes them food if they are in need. She will go to yard sales and friendship houses searching for clothing or shower chairs for the patients. She has visited patient’s homes on her own time and cleaned their house and mowed their yard. She is constantly shining God’s light and extending the healing ministry of Christ. She truly has a passion for taking care of her patients.”

David Watson, AdventHealth Manchester Director of Engineering nominated Mr. Cotton, Boiler Operator/Locksmith for all the little things he does that exemplify our mission and service standards. “Mr. Cotton personally handed out apples to his team members and others, spending extra hours off the clock to make sure a bed is functioning correctly or pinning a lock that keeps us safe, making time in his busy schedule to attend a short Friday devotional and sometimes leading devotion. His attention to detail is assurance the job is always done correctly. Our 45 year-old boilers proves my point, his participation in staff meetings, his penny pinching attitude towards our budget, his love for this community and hospital and last but not least, stopping by my office to tell me he appreciates me and is praying for me, especially if he knows I have had a rough day. David demonstrates ALL the service standards.” said Mr. Watson

Each quarter, AdventHealth Manchester names one clinical and one non-clinical Simply The Best employee based on the demonstration of extraordinary dedication to their work. Employees are nominated by their supervising managers, team leads, or directors. The hospital's C-suite and other senior staff then determine the winners based on those nominations. At the end of the year, two employees from the 8 chosen, are recognized as employees of the year for exemplary service.
