What does the NC Supreme Court decision mean for the AdventHealth hospital project?

The North Carolina Supreme Court’s decision not to review the appeal concludes the legal process related to AdventHealth’s previously approved 67-bed Certificate of Need and affirms the state’s determination that additional hospital capacity is needed in Western North Carolina. This decision allows AdventHealth to continue advancing planning and preparation tied to that approved capacity. It does not represent final approval for additional beds currently under review. It does bring an end to the delays brought by the appeal activity and allow AdventHealth to finalize construction sequencing, place long-lead material orders and coordinate contractor timelines to build this hospital. AdventHealth remains committed to a thoughtful, transparent process and will continue sharing updates as remaining regulatory steps are completed and project milestones are reached.
