Patients in Bolingbrook now have strengthened access to comprehensive primary care and trauma-informed services through the expertise of Andrea Kiela, FNP-BC, a board-certified family nurse practitioner and nationally certified Adult-Adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE-A) with UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Medical Group.
Andrea provides whole-person care for patients of all ages—from newborns to older adults—offering preventive services, women’s health, gynecologic exams, chronic disease management and support for sexually transmitted infections. As a SANE-A provider, Andrea brings a uniquely specialized level of support for survivors of sexual assault. Her trauma-informed care ensures survivors receive compassionate, evidence-based treatment while maintaining dignity, autonomy and control during a deeply vulnerable experience.
“At its core, trauma-informed care is about helping survivors regain control,” Andrea said. “My goal is to provide choices, restore dignity and support each person in a way that empowers them.”
Andrea’s career in forensic nursing began in the Emergency Department at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hinsdale, where she frequently cared for survivors and felt called to serve this population more deeply. Since completing her Illinois Adult-Adolescent SANE training in 2022 and earning her national certification, she has helped coordinate a regional on-call SANE program that provides consistent, expert care for survivors across UChicago Medicine AdventHealth. Her leadership has strengthened teamwork, communication and readiness among SANE nurses at multiple hospitals.
In primary care, Andrea is equally committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where patients feel supported and involved in their care plans. She integrates trauma-informed practices with preventive care and personalized wellness strategies, reflecting her belief that health is best supported when mind, body and spirit are all addressed.
Andrea speaks English and conversational Lithuanian and Spanish. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, International Association of Forensic Nurses, Academy of Forensic Nursing and the Emergency Nurses Association.
She sees patients at two UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook Primary Care locations (329 Remington Blvd., Suite 200, and 396 Remington Blvd., Suite 131). To schedule an appointment or for more information, click here or call Call630-759-4800.
