Access to advanced orthopedic care is growing in Flagler County with the addition of Dr. Kunal Panwar, a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction, now caring for patients at AdventHealth Palm Coast.
Panwar joins AdventHealth Medical Group, a team of nearly 450 physicians and advanced practice providers representing more than 30 specialties across Flagler, Lake, Sumter, and Volusia counties. The group is part of AdventHealth’s connected network of care, ensuring patients can move seamlessly from diagnosis to recovery with coordinated support every step of the way.
“I’m passionate about helping patients move freely again and return to the activities they love,” said Panwar. “Joint replacement surgery has gone through a tremendous amount of innovation, there are a wide variety of ways to improve recovery and healing after surgery. I really enjoy using muscle sparing approaches to the knee and the hip, combined with robotic technology to expedite recovery.”
Flagler County is one of the fastest-growing communities in Florida, home to a large population of active older adults. Nearly one in three residents is age 65 or older — a demographic more likely to need hip or knee replacement surgery to maintain mobility and quality of life. Recruiting another orthopedic surgeon helps meet that need locally, allowing patients to receive expert care close to home rather than traveling to neighboring counties for procedures or rehabilitation.
“Panwar brings exceptional skill and compassion to our orthopedic team,” said Denyse Bales-Chubb, president and CEO of AdventHealth Flagler and St. Johns counties. “His arrival means our community now has greater access to world-class joint replacement and robotic-assisted surgery — right here in Palm Coast, surrounded by the family and friends who support recovery.”
To keep pace with the area’s rapid population growth, AdventHealth is investing in new physicians, technology, and facilities across the East Florida Division. By 2029, the region is projected to add 1.4 million new residents, a growth rate more than four times the national average. In 2024 alone, AdventHealth recruited nearly 120 physicians and advanced practitioners, including about 25 in Flagler County, to ensure local residents have access to specialized care and shorter wait times.
Panwar’s expertise includes primary and revision or “redo” hip and knee replacement surgeries, using robotic-assisted technology to tailor each procedure to the patient’s anatomy. This approach allows for smaller incisions, greater accuracy, and faster recovery — helping patients return to the activities that make them feel whole.
He completed his hip and knee fellowship at Albert Einstein University/Montefiore Medical Center, ranked among the nation’s top orthopedic programs by U.S. News & World Report. He earned his medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, California.
Panwar is now seeing patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Orthopedic Surgery, located at 61 Memorial Medical Parkway, Suite 2801, Palm Coast. To contact his office, call Call386-232-9210.
