DELAND, Fla. — AdventHealth DeLand will soon install a new MRI system designed to deliver faster exams, sharper images and a more comfortable experience for patients in West Volusia.
The Siemens MAGNETOM Sola MRI combines leading-edge design and artificial intelligence to produce detailed images in a fraction of the time, helping physicians see more and diagnose conditions earlier with greater confidence.
“This is an investment in people — in the families who count on us to provide care that’s not only advanced, but close to home,” said Khelsea Bauer, president and CEO of AdventHealth DeLand. “This next-generation MRI gives our community faster answers, greater comfort and more peace of mind.”
The system’s wider opening and higher weight limit help reduce feelings of confinement and allow more people to complete their exams with ease. With exams up to 50% faster, the technology will allow AdventHealth DeLand to serve more patients each day.
Key features include:
- Personalized comfort: Technology that automatically adjusts to each patient’s breathing and heart rhythm.
- AI-powered imaging: Software that produces crystal-clear images in less time — from head to toe — without compromising accuracy.
- Flexible design: Equipment that allows faster exams across multiple body areas, improving convenience for patients and accuracy for physicians.
- Expanded safety: The ability to safely scan people with many common medical implants.
“Every minute matters when making an accurate diagnosis,” said Dr. Thomas Scoggins, chief medical officer at AdventHealth DeLand. “This new MRI captures incredibly detailed images in less time — which means less waiting, less stress and faster answers for our patients. It’s a meaningful step forward in how we deliver care.”
While construction is underway, MRI services continue uninterrupted through a mobile imaging unit located on the AdventHealth DeLand campus. The new system is expected to be online in the second quarter of 2026.
