WAUCHULA, Fla. — People in Hardee County can feel confident knowing their local hospital is among the safest in the nation with AdventHealth Wauchula being named a Top Rural Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for its exceptional commitment to patient safety and quality care. This marks the eleventh consecutive year the hospital has earned this prestigious recognition.
The award is one of the most competitive honors in health care. It reflects AdventHealth Wauchula’s dedication to protecting patients from preventable harm and delivering high-quality care close to home.

Out of more than 2,400 hospitals evaluated nationwide, only 156 earned a Top Hospital designation, including just 16 rural hospitals. AdventHealth Wauchula is honored to be among them.
The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog, rates hospitals on how well they protect patients from preventable harm including accidents, injuries and infections. Hospitals that receive the Top Hospital award meet rigorous standards for safety and quality, including low infection rates, strong maternity care practices and systems that prevent medication errors, among other standards.
