Donna Collins, a patient care technician at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun, has been honored as the latest recipient of the SonShine Award. Donna was recognized for her commitment to caring for her patients in a loving and attentive manner.
Donna’s nomination read, in part: “Donna has the most wonderful way of making her patients feel like they are the only patient she has. She took care of my 77-year-old mother who has dementia, bipolar disorder and hearing loss, among other issues, but was being treated for a broken ankle and wrist. Donna has a warm and caring personality, and the extra love she gave us was as important as the medicine.”
The SonShine Award was established by AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in 2017 to honor the hard work and dedication of their team members. The recipients of the SonShine award “shine” for the “Son” of God through their warm and comforting care they provide to patients and their fellow team members.
Awards like this one provide opportunities for patients, visitors and other team members to recognize and reward team members for exceptional accomplishments and demonstrated behaviors that are aligned to the mission, vision and values of AdventHealth.
Please join us in celebrating Donna and her dedication to providing loving, whole-person care to her patients.
