Carrie Peek, RN, was recognized for her excellence in helping cancer patients and their families navigate the impossible with dignity through extraordinary care.
AdventHealth Gordon is proud to announce that Carrie Peek, RN, has been honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a recognition that celebrates the compassionate care nurses provide every day.
Carrie, a nurse navigator with the AdventHealth Gordon oncology team, was chosen for her excellence in helping cancer patients and their families navigate their appointments and treatment plans with dignity through extraordinary care, and for her devotion to her patients’ well-being.
One of Carrie’s nominations read: “Carrie was there every step of the way for me and my wife. It did not matter what question or worry I had — she was there. It did not matter what day it was — she would answer her phone. Getting through this was so much easier with Carrie by our side. She calmed my nerves and gave me good vibes and encouragement through it all. In my opinion, Carrie is one of a kind. God bless her, Dr. Lee and the entire staff at the hospital.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who go above and beyond in their service to patients and families. Carrie joins a distinguished group of nurses across the country who have demonstrated excellence in clinical skill and extraordinary compassion.
