With decades of experience treating heart and lung conditions, cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Cary Meyers has joined AdventHealth Medical Group and will care for patients at AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
Board certified in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery, Meyers earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill. and trained at Duke University Medical Center, where he completed his internship, two residencies in general and cardiothoracic surgery, and a research fellowship in surgery.
“We are proud to have a team of physicians and surgeons who are at the forefront of medical innovation,” said Dr. David Sinclair, chief medical officer of AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
“Dr. Meyers’ longstanding dedication to our community, combined with his experience in cardiovascular research and surgical care, make him a valuable addition to our expanding heart and vascular program.”
Meyers has been dedicated to the local community since 2015, previously operating at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach and teaching future surgeons as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla.
"I’ve been caring for the Daytona Beach community for nearly a decade and am thrilled to join AdventHealth,” said Meyers. “My goal is to ensure that each patient receives the highest quality care and AdventHealth Daytona Beach has a rich legacy of clinical excellence and innovation.”
Meyers served in the U.S. Navy as a vascular surgeon during Operation Enduring Freedom in Germany and received the Meritorious Service Medal in 2008. Meyers has an extensive bibliography of published works, abstracts, and presentations, and has lectured at medical conferences across the U.S.
