Healthgrades, a leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals, recently announced the recipients of its 2018 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence, and eight Adventist Health System hospitals campuses are among the honorees.
“It is a tremendous honor to have eight hospitals considered among the nation’s elite for care delivery,” said Kathleen Clem, MD, executive vice president and chief clinical officer for Adventist Health System. “We strive to provide the highest level of care possible across our organization, and these honorees are shining examples of our systemwide pursuit of clinical excellence.”
Florida Hospital Altamonte, Florida Hospital Apopka, Florida Hospital Celebration Health, Florida Hospital East Orlando, Florida Hospital Kissimmee, Florida Hospital Orlando, Porter Adventist Hospital and Winter Park Memorial Hospital are among just 250 hospitals across the country to receive the award. The designation places them among the top five percent of hospitals nationally in the delivery of high quality care across at least 21 of 32 common inpatient conditions and procedures, based on analysis done by Healthgrades.
Nationwide, nearly 4,500 hospitals were evaluated for the award. According to Healthgrades, while many hospitals have specific areas of expertise and high-quality outcomes for some conditions and procedures, the hospitals receiving the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence demonstrate comprehensive and consistent quality across a range of conditions and procedures.
