AdventHealth has appointed Chip Owens as senior vice president and regional chief financial officer (CFO) for its facilities in East Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties, effective Sept. 29.
In this role, Owens will oversee financial operations for AdventHealth Daytona Beach, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, AdventHealth Palm Coast and AdventHealth Palm Coast Parkway. With 737 inpatient beds and more than 4,500 team members, these hospitals care for thousands of patients annually while also fueling major growth across the region.
“Every financial decision touches real people — from the caregivers on the front lines to the patients counting on us for care,” said Owens. “Finance is the framework that allows us to extend Christ’s healing ministry. When we steward resources wisely, we’re making sure nurses have what they need at the bedside and families can access care close to home.”
Owens brings nearly 20 years of experience in health care finance. Most recently, he served as Network CFO for Adventist Health in Southern California, leading financial strategy for multiple hospitals.
His career also includes CFO positions at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles and Simi Valley Hospital, as well as system-level leadership at Adventist Health in Roseville, California. Earlier in his career, he served as finance manager at AdventHealth Orlando and as controller/director at AdventHealth Manchester in Kentucky.
Owens earned his Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and management from Union College.
“We are thrilled to welcome Chip back to AdventHealth,” said David Weis, president and CEO for AdventHealth East Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns counties. “Chip understands that stewardship is about investing in people — our caregivers, our patients, and our neighbors. His leadership will help us keep care accessible today and sustainable for generations to come.”
