Sebring, FL – AdventHealth Sebring has achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery for providing the highest quality of care and patient safety by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC). AdventHealth Sebring houses two da Vinci Xi surgical robots to provide minimally invasive surgeries which shorten the length of hospitalizations and reduce recovery times, helping patients return to a better quality of life faster. The hospital is the only facility in Highlands and Hardee counties to receive the SRC designation.
“The Robotic Center of Excellence accreditation assures our community that excellent, world-class surgical care is available in the Heartland,” said Randy Surber, President and CEO of AdventHealth Sebring. “Consistently delivering safe, surgical care using state-of-the-art technology and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement have been key initiatives for this first-class team and embodies our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.”
Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation and not all that undergo the rigorous requirements and inspection process are granted accreditation by SRC. AdventHealth Sebring voluntarily submitted to be part of the rigorous accreditation process. Two surgeons from the hospital were recognized as “Surgeons of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by the SRC.
“This accreditation demonstrates AdventHealth Sebring’s dedication to excellence in robotic surgery,” Dr. Latzko said.
“It is a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care through tracking robotic procedures and outcomes. This knowledge will be beneficial and set a standard of excellence that will positively impact our patients. We are excited to bring this distinction and national recognition to AdventHealth, and our Heartland community.”
In 2021, AdventHealth Sebring celebrated more than 1,000 robotic procedures including general, gynecologic, and urologic surgeries. The distinction acknowledges AdventHealth Sebring’s breadth and depth of clinical experience by both surgeons and operating room team members.
