Recently, a group of three neurosurgeons signed contracts committing to provide neurosurgical care at AdventHealth Redmond.
AdventHealth Redmond is pleased to welcome John A Cowan, Jr, MD; Jason Harrison, MD, PhD; and Alex Whitaker-Lea, MD, to the AdventHealth Redmond team, who combined have nearly 25 years of experience in providing neurosurgical care to patients across Northwest Georgia and East Alabama.
“We are proud of our legacy of providing world-class health care,” said Isaac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Redmond. “Adding these neurosurgeons to our team of skilled providers will allow AdventHealth Redmond to expand our advanced care and better serve our patients.”
AdventHealth Medical Group Neurosurgery at Rome is scheduled to open in September at 15 John Maddox Drive NW, Rome, GA 30165.
John Cowan, MD, obtained his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
Jason Harrison, MD, PhD, obtained his medical degree at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in basic medical sciences.
Alex Whitaker-Lea, MD, obtained her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University in Athens. She completed her residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
Sendros added, “We look forward to working more closely with this group of experts to continue to provide whole-person care to our communities.”
