ORLANDO, Fla. — AdventHealth is expanding access to high-quality, whole-person emergency care with the opening of two new freestanding emergency rooms: AdventHealth Poinciana ER and AdventHealth Sanford ER.
- AdventHealth Poinciana ER and AdventHealth Sanford ER will open to patients on October 6.
- This expansion underscores AdventHealth’s commitment to meeting the urgent health needs of Central Florida’s fastest-growing communities. Recently named by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 hospital in Florida and one of the Top 20 hospitals in the nation, AdventHealth is extending its nationally recognized care into new neighborhoods, ensuring more families have access to trusted emergency services close to home.
AdventHealth Poinciana ER
The Poinciana ER marks AdventHealth’s expansion into the Poinciana community, providing vital access to emergency care in a rapidly growing area of Osceola and Polk counties.
The new, 15,000-square-foot facility features:
- 16 patient beds
- Respiratory therapy services
- Diagnostic imaging, including X-ray, CT and ultrasound
- On-site laboratory for rapid results
- On-site pharmacy for patient convenience
- Smart-room technology to support remote connections between patients, their care teams and loved ones
“AdventHealth Poinciana ER reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are with life-saving care when they need it most,” said Craig Moore, CEO of AdventHealth Kissimmee. “This community has grown tremendously, and it’s important to us that residents have convenient access to the highest level of emergency care close to home.”
Dr. Ketan Pandya, emergency department medical director for AdventHealth Kissimmee, added, “When minutes matter, proximity to advanced emergency services can save lives. Having a dedicated ER in Poinciana ensures families have immediate access to expert care without needing to travel long distances.”
AdventHealth Sanford ER
Located in one of Seminole County’s fastest-growing areas, AdventHealth Sanford ER will deliver expanded access to critical emergency services in the northern corridor of Central Florida.
The new, 13,300 square foot facility includes:
- 12 patient beds
- 1 triage room for rapid assessment and patient flow
- Diagnostic imaging, including X-ray and CT
- On-site laboratory for immediate test results
- On-site pharmacy for patient convenience
- Smart-room technology to support remote connections between patients, their care teams and loved ones
“As Seminole County continues to grow, we are pleased to bring trusted AdventHealth emergency care to Sanford,” said Jeff Villanueva, CEO of AdventHealth Altamonte Springs. “Our goal is to ensure families in this thriving community have immediate access to the emergency expertise they deserve.”
Dr. Zack Weagraff, AdventHealth’s emergency medical director in Seminole County, emphasized the importance of timely care.
“Emergencies don’t wait, and neither should patients,” he said. “Facilities like AdventHealth Sanford ER ensure our community has access to life-saving treatments around the clock.”
Both facilities will be staffed by a comprehensive clinical team including board-certified emergency physicians and emergency nurses. More than 120 jobs will be added at the two ERs.
