The program educates patients on nutrition, physical activity and lifestyle changes, recommending and initiating bone mineral density testing and providing written communication to the patient and family physician regarding the patient's specific risk factors and treatment recommendations.

- Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) Program
AdventHealth Zephyrhills is participating in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) program. The program is a new payment model being tested for episodes of care related to total knee and total hip replacements under Medicare, with the goal of supporting better and more efficient care coordination for patients undergoing the most common inpatient surgeries.
The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model continues to pay providers under existing payment systems, but holds hospitals responsible for the quality and costs from the initial procedure through 90 days after the patient is discharged. Through the CJR program, CMS expects improved coordination of care among hospitals, physicians and post-acute care providers – from surgery to recovery –to benefit patients and result in better outcomes and fewer complications.
- Advanced, Minimally Invasive Joint Replacements
You don't want to wait around during your recovery. But you also want to feel more mobile and active. Here, we perform minimally invasive joint replacements and resurfacing procedures using the leading-edge Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery technology for better results. AdventHealth Zephryhills was the first facility in the area to offer this technology, meaning we have the most experience with this innovative orthopedic surgery option. With this procedure, we can more precisely resurface and replace joints using smaller incisions. For joint replacements, we'll create prostheses that are tailored to you and better match your body. This all leads to faster recovery times, more natural-feeling joints and better outcomes.
- A Network of Connected, Compassionate Care
You want to feel confident in the care you receive. It helps you relax and promotes healing. We work to instill that confidence by helping you understand what to expect before and after your orthopedic surgery. We also send you home with all the resources you'll need for continued healing. Every step of the way, you’ll always have guidance from our multidisciplinary support team of orthopedists, physicians, nurses and therapists.
Because we know you respond best to the people you love, we’ll also encourage you to choose a coach from among your family or friends — someone who can mentor, care for, and encourage you as you heal. To prepare you for orthopedic surgery, we’ll invite you and your coach to attend our pre-operative class a week or two beforehand. We’ll assign an Orthopedic Care Coordinator to answer your questions, make sure all your needs are met and act as your primary contact. With an expert team and a loved one by your side, you’ll have all the caring support you need throughout your recovery.
