Shaw Industries presented a check to the Harris Radiation Therapy Center at Gordon Hospital. Shaw's Gordon County plants raised more than $2,600 from selling breast cancer awareness t-shirts to their associates.

"This is the fourth year where we've allowed our associates to pick out a place for the funds to go," said Teresa Thornbrough, Shaw human resources manager. "Each year they are excited to support Gordon Hospital."

This donation will support local cancer patients, who utilize the cancer services Gordon Hospital provides.

"Over the past three years, we have treated 125 patients with breast cancer," said Lanell Jacobs, director of oncology services at Gordon Hospital. "These funds help make the difficult journey cancer causes by covering some of the costs that insurance does not cover."

"Since joining the medical staff at Gordon Hospital, I have been most impressed by the holistic approach to patient care," said Sheela Hanasoge, MD, PhD, radiation oncologist at the Harris Radiation Therapy Center. "It is truly remarkable how much one-on-one attention each patient receives."
