So when you’re faced with challenges, AdventHealth Gordon, formerly Gordon Hospital, is here to help you reach your wellness goals. Our elderly and underprivileged neighbors in the Gordon County area can access our popular free community health-education classes, special clinical and non-clinical programs, and spiritual resources along with financial assistance for medical expenses.

All of our neighbors are invited to join our free or low-cost health education classes and support groups, where they can learn healthier habits, discover ways to move through a new life transition, or simply spend time with others who have similar life experiences. It all works toward creating healthier and happier communities and is all part of AdventHealth's mission to provide whole-person care for every one of our neighbors.

Community Education for Learning a New Skill or Healthier Habits

Learning is a life-long pursuit. As you grow and change, so do your health needs. We provide many community health education opportunities for you to learn new skills designed to help you live a healthier, happier life.

Breastfeeding 101

Living Well Classes with Julia Danforth, MD

Taught by board-certified Lifestyle Medicine and Family Medicine physician Julia Danforth, MD, this workshop series demonstrates why and how a whole-food plant-based diet is great for your health, energy and treating chronic diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and more. Knowing that you're not alone, knowing that there are others who understand your feelings and your pain, these are powerful components of the healing process. You will find that the support you get from someone else who has experienced what you're going through is invaluable.

Beautiful You Program

A program dedicated to supporting women as they go through cancer treatment by nurturing body, mind and spirit, Beautiful You provides patients with wigs, turbans and makeovers free of charge to help patients feel more like themselves. To register, call Call706-879-5850.

Cancer Support Group
