Green Recognized with Extra Mile Award

Alta Green, RN, was recently awarded AdventHealth Gordon’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.

Green, who is a nurse in AdventHealth Gordon’s medical-surgical unit, was nominated by Sarah Durden, nurse manager of the medical-surgical unit, and Michelle Cowart, director of inpatient services, with the following words: “We recently had an inpatient hospice patient, and the comfort care cart was out of snacks. Alta used her personal money to purchase snacks for the patient’s family. Her selflessness and kind demeanor make her the perfect recipient of the Extra Mile Award.”
