Honoring Native American Heritage Month

November is National Native American Heritage Month, also known as American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. It’s a time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions and histories of Native peoples — and to appreciate and learn more about the valuable contributions of their respective Tribes, achieved while facing both historic and present-day challenges.

As we celebrate Native American Heritage Month, we recognize and honor the first Americans and their remarkable contributions to medicine and public health. Their forward-thinking developments paved the way for many of our modern-day health practices and continue to influence the future of health care.

At AdventHealth, we’re here to support the whole health of our Native populations for generations to come. We embrace and are always looking for ways to apply inclusivity to health care for all people. Education about whole-person wellness and health equity is encouraged in all our communities.
