Community members seeking convenient walk-in health care now have a new option. Shawnee Mission Health (SMH) is expanding its urgent care network with the opening of its third Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care location at 14744 W. 119th Street in Olathe, just east of the intersection of 119th and Black Bob.
The Kansas City Centra Care locations are a partnership between SMH and Centra Care, both of which are part of Adventist Health System. The new site is staffed with Board-certified physicians and offers convenience for those seeking walk-in care who don't want to wait. Patients can even go online to make a no-wait reservation. The new Olathe location also features a children's waiting area and a dedicated pediatric exam room.
"Our new Centra Care location in Olathe provides physician-based health care access close to home and allows Shawnee Mission Health to further our mission of improving the health of our community," said Ken Bacon, president and chief executive officer of SMH. "Centra Care brings extensive experience in providing quality and convenient urgent care, and we are pleased to offer this service to the Olathe community."
Centra Care is open 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and 8 am to 5 pm on weekends. Centra Care physicians treat a variety of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in both adults and children including colds, flu, sore throats, earaches, stomachaches, cuts, broken bones and sprains. Centra Care always has a Board-certified physician on site and is able to fill most prescriptions for patients.
We are thrilled to launch our third Centra Care location in the greater Kansas City metro and provide the convenient care with a high-level of patient satisfaction that we know consumers are seeking, said Scott Brady, MD, president and senior medical director of Centra Care.
Centra Care also offers comprehensive business health services including drug testing, health risk appraisals, occupational health examinations, on-site lab screenings, Department of Transportation examinations and other employment physicals.
The Centra Care network in Kansas City includes locations in Overland Park at 135th and Antioch and in Lenexa at 9040 Quivira Road, and soon a fourth location in Shawnee.
