ORANGE CITY, Fla., July 18, 2017 Florida Hospital Fish Memorial has selected Samantha Knowles to serve as orthopedic navigator.
In this role, Knowles will work with the orthopedic surgery team comprised of physicians, nurses, home health care and the hospitals rehabilitation department. In addition, she will guide orthopedic patients and their family through the orthopedic program from pre-surgery to discharge.
Knowles has nearly 25 years of nursing experience and has worked for Florida Hospital for more than 10 years.
Most recently, she served as charge nurse for Florida Hospital Fish Memorials pre-operative holding area and was responsible for educating patients and their families, as well as preparing patients for surgery. In addition, she served as a liaison for physicians.
A Deltona resident since 1992, Knowles earned a nursing degree from Seminole Community College.
