New ER Nurse Manager

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., August 31, 2017 Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has selected Kevin Captain to serve as nurse manager for the emergency department.

In this role, Captain will oversee Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Centers 53-bed emergency department with nearly 100 caregivers, optimizing the patient experience, clinical excellence, and employee engagement.

Captain has more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, trauma, and clinical education. Most recently, he served as the trauma program manager for Memorial Hospital, a 418-bed acute care hospital in Jacksonville, assisting in the launch of the hospitals new trauma center.

Captain has been publicly active in promoting emergency nursing and trauma care throughout his career via a myriad state and national legislative activities. Furthermore, he assisted as a subject matter expert for the Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) exam developed by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN).

An Ormond Beach resident, he is a registered nurse and paramedic.
