PALM COAST, Fla., September 25, 2019— On Sept. 22, over 150 volunteers joined AdventHealth Palm Coast to clean-up along Flagler Beach. The volunteers came from Flagler and Volusia counties and approximately 70% were children and teenagers.
Medical oncologist Dr. Padmaja Sai brought her daughter Ashana, who in turn encouraged 35 of her friends from high school to join this effort.
“We care about our environment and know what a serious problem trash is for the ocean,” said Eddie Goncalves, AdventHealth Palm Coast senior chaplain and director of pastoral care. “The weather was amazing, and the event was a total success – the beach is definitely now much cleaner for animals and visitors. We are so thankful to all of the volunteers who gave their time and effort to help us clean our local beach.”
All in all, the group picked up 10 large bags of trash from the beach.
