Emergency Services at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel
While no one wants to think of a situation where they need emergency medical care, it’s best to be prepared. At AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, our emergency services provide our community peace of mind, knowing we’re ready if expert medical care is needed.
Whether you or your family needs medical attention for minor bumps, scrapes, burns or life-threatening conditions, our board-certified, board-eligible emergency physicians and nurses are ready to help you. Our emergency room is staffed and prepared 24/7 to provide quick, expert, compassionate care to you and your family.
Along with our expert physicians, our emergency department is built with speed, efficiency and your comfort in mind. Triage, the first step of emergency care, occurs bedside, not in the waiting room like in most hospitals. This speeds up the process while reducing your stress. Our emergency room also has dedicated CT and digital imaging technology, so you get diagnosis and treatment faster.
For children, we provide a separate waiting room with a large fish tank and a soothing environment to reduce their stress. Then, the Phillips Ambient Experience technology built in the rooms creates a soothing environment in a stressful situation. In fact, AdventHealth has found children need 40% less medication while in an ambient environment.
Trust AdventHealth Wesley Chapel to provide the best care and customer service for you and your family.

Urgent Care or ER: How to Identify an Emergency
Broken bones, sudden pain, trouble breathing — when you’re faced with an emergency situation, it’s only natural to feel shaken and uncertain of what to do. We're here to help. If you experience signs of stroke or heart attack, pain that comes out of nowhere, severe allergies or burns, or any other condition you think could be life-threatening, play it safe. Call 911 immediately to be taken to the closest ER if you experience any of the following:
- Complicated Fractures
- Deep Wounds
- Extreme Difficulty Breathing
- Major Head Injury
- Poisoning
- Severe Allergic Reactions
- Severe Burns
- Suspected Heart Attack
- Suspected Stroke
- Vomiting or Coughing Up Blood
Whatever your emergency, you can count on us to give supportive, skilled medical care.
What to Expect When You Visit the ERMost emergencies are unexpected. But there are some steps you can take to prepare, which will help us provide better, faster treatment. To that end, consider keeping certain helpful information on you at all times, such as the name of your primary care physician, your insurance card, a list of your medications and drug allergies, and any advance directives (like health care proxy or power of attorney).
When you visit either of our 24-hour emergency rooms — at our Wesley Chapel hospital or in central Pasco — you’ll probably have lots of questions. You can count on us to help you answer them.
Because we’re committed to bringing you timely Emergency Care, we use a process called triage to help us prioritize who receives care first. This means a later-arriving patient in a critical condition may receive treatment sooner than an earlier-arriving patient not in a critical condition. But you can trust that we’re committed to helping you heal, which means we’ll do all we can to reduce your wait time and see to your comfort and health.

- Insurance Card
- Photo I.D.
- Name and phone number of your primary care doctor
- A list of medications you currently take and any drug allergies
- Advance directives: Living Will, Do-Not-Resuscitate orders and Power of Attorney.
