Into Your Heart Health
You're more than a patient. You're a neighbor, a friend, and a member of our community. At AdventHealth Waterman, formerly Florida Hospital Waterman, we deliver compassionate heart care that treats you as a whole — from the physical needs of your heart and body to matters concerning your emotional and spiritual health.
We are proud to be the first hospital in north Lake County to receive full accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care for our Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (more commonly known as coronary angioplasty). With accreditation from the American College of Cardiology for Chest Pain Rapid Response Systems, we are also the only hospital in Central Florida to receive 10 consecutive "A" grades by the Leapfrog Group, a prestigious healthcare ratings group that named us among the top three percent of hospitals in the country.
Your heart is what keeps you strong and active. Our goal is making sure you stay strong and active for years to come with expert cardiac care.
To Keep You Healthy
- Assessing Your Cardiovascular Risks
Your cardiovascular health is supported by many things: the family that warms your heart, the friends who make you laugh, and the focus you keep on staying active and fit. Your heart health is also supported by quality medical care. The expert cardiologists at AdventHealth Waterman, formerly Florida Hospital Waterman, will sit with you and discuss all of these factors in order to assess your risk of heart disease. Together, we'll explore everything from your family history to your habits, and we'll guide you toward a positive future.
Possible risk assessments include:
From here, we'll create a customized whole-person health plan that incorporates the needs of your body, mind, and spirit, so that you can be fully confident in your cardiac care.
- Healing Starts With Diagnosis
Your heart is your body's most important organ. It enables both your physical and spiritual wellness, allowing you to work, walk, laugh, and love. If you've noticed something out of the ordinary — like chest pain or a racing heartbeat — a quick and accurate diagnosis will restore your confidence and help you make informed choices about your cardiac health. Our heart care team performs screenings in order to create a cardiac care strategy, customized for you. These screenings may include:
- CT Scans
- Stress Tests
We diagnose and offer treatments for a range of heart diseases and conditions, including:
- Atrial Fibrillation and Arrhythmias
- Chest Pain
- Heart Attack
- Heart Failure
- Heart Valve Disease
- Vascular Disease
- Rapid Response and Effective Heart Disease Treatments
In a cardiac emergency — like when you experience symptoms of a heart attack — every second counts. At AdventHealth Waterman, we have the innovative equipment and advanced technologies to quickly assess your condition and begin effective treatments. Our heart center treats both common and complex heart problems, and delivers superior outcomes for non- and minimally invasive procedures, as well as open-heart surgery. Whether you’re battling heart disease, stroke, diabetes, or another vascular condition, we'll treat you with the compassionate, whole-person care you deserve.
We offer these and other heart disease treatments and services:
- Arterial Bypass Surgery
- Customized Cardiac Rehabilitation
- Heart Failure Treatment
- Heart Surgery for Atrial Fibrillation
- Medical Management of High Blood Pressure
- Open Heart Surgery
- Pacemaker Insertion
- Peripheral Cardiac Intervention
We're also experienced with performing coronary artery bypass and off-pump bypass surgery. In this procedure, we will take a healthy vein or artery from another part of the body and redirect blood flow to create a new, clearer passageway for blood to reach the heart. If off-pump surgery is an option for you, you will benefit from a less-invasive technique, meaning a faster recovery time and a lower risk of complications.
- Investing in Our Community's Heart Health
You’ve heard the physician's oath: Do no harm. Our oath is this and more. We do good by securing your heart health through education, donations, and free events that keep you strong and active. We invest millions of dollars in the Lake County community annually, supplying you and your neighbors with the tools and expertise to address even the most-urgent heart-health issues. Our hospital hosts numerous support groups, makes financial contributions to charitable organizations, and coordinates service projects ranging from collecting food items for local food banks to providing school supplies to children in need. For us, it's not enough to treat you. We’d rather get involved and get active.
