  • Join the integrative and lifestyle medicine experts from the Whole Health Institute at AdventHealth for a deep dive look into your daily wellness routine through these three interactive and educational programs. Explore new health topics from personalized nutrition to improving your gut health with simple strategies that will support your journey to feeling whole. The programs will be held from 12 to 1pm and a nutritious lunch will be provided for participants. These programs will be held in-person at the Merriam Community Center (6040 Slater St. Merriam, Kansas 66202).

    Nutrition Foundations for Creating a Well-Balanced Plate presented by Lisa Markley, RDN, Director of Culinary Medicine of the Center for Whole Health at AdventHealth – Cost: $20

    This class will get you back to the basics of healthy eating and feeling more confident in your nutrition and food choices. Together we’ll explore the components of a well-balanced plate and you’ll come away with several tangible ideas for making eating healthfully more achievable and enjoyable.     Supplements 101 presented by Megan Schlick, ND, Naturopathic Doctor at the Center for Whole Health at AdventHealth – Cost: $20

    Although diet optimization and lifestyle changes are higher on the list of importance, supplements can be a piece of the wellness puzzle. Join Naturopathic Doctor, Megan Schlick, as she discusses common uses for supplements, when might supplements be problematic, and also touches on quality and safety concerns. Thursday, July 15 from 12 to 1 pm

    Weight Loss and Weight Maintenance in the 21st Century presented by Tereza Hubkova, MD, Integrative Medicine Physician and Medical Director of the Center for Whole Health at AdventHealth – Cost: $20

    According to the CDC, nearly 50 percent of Americans are trying to lose weight at any given time. That’s not surprising given that 70 percent of us are overweight and carrying excess body fat. Our genetics have a substantial impact on our weight and can inform our lifestyle choices. Learn how to determine your optimal weight, how to maintain it and what can make some people resistant to weight loss.
