Extra Safety Measures for Your Protection
We’re employing the following safety measures and protocols to ensure you and your loved ones feel confident, protected and safe in our facilities.
Universal Mask Use
Even in a pandemic, you can feel safe. We’re stocked with safety supplies, and have the personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks for all patients, visitors and team members at our facilities.
Have peace of mind that everyone you come into contact with has their temperature checked upon arrival. Every facility. Every time.
Feel confident you’re doing the right thing to keep yourself and others safe. With limited visitation, new waiting room protocols and more, you can safely practice social distancing.
Take comfort knowing your safety is our priority. COVID-19-positive and symptomatic patients are carefully quarantined away from patients and visitors.
Enhanced Sanitation Measures
If you’ve visited our facilities in the past, you know that cleanliness has always been one of our top priorities. But now we’re taking extraordinary new steps to ensure thorough, frequent and ongoing sanitation measures are happening around the clock.

What to Expect When You Visit the ER
We know you'll probably have a lot of questions when you come in for emergency medical treatments. And we want you to feel confident in the care you receive, so we’ll take the time to answer each one thoughtfully and patiently. We’ll have some questions for you, too, because the more we know, the more safely and quickly we can care for you. First, we’ll ask for basic information like your medical history and the reason for your visit. After taking your vital signs, we’ll decide on the best way to help you heal.
In our Durand ER, we use a process known as triage to prioritize who receives care first. This means we may treat a later-arriving patient suffering from a stroke before a patient in a less critical condition. To help us better serve you, you may want to consider keeping an information card in your purse or wallet. Include information like:
- Advance Directives (Like Power of Attorney and Health Care Proxy)
- List of All Your Medications and Drug Allergies
- Name and Number of Your Primary Care Doctor
When we know all the facts, we can deliver safer, faster healing.
- Video Visit Services to Bring You Healing Wherever You Are
When you’re not feeling like yourself, getting dressed and going to the doctor’s office (or just getting out of bed) may be the last thing you want to do. That’s why we created Video Visits — so you can visit with a doctor or nurse practitioner from your couch using a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Through Video Visits, we offer advice and support for a number of minor ailments, including:
- Conjunctivitis/Pink Eye
- Cough, Colds, Bronchitis, and Flu
- Lower Back Pain
- Seasonal Allergies
- Sinus and Upper Respiratory Infections
- Skin Conditions
- Urinary Tract Infections
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 8 pm | Saturday through Sunday, 8 am to 5 pm. No appointment needed.

Hopefully, your trip to the emergency room will be the only medical attention you'll need for a while. If your injury or condition requires further treatment, however, our care navigators will help connect you with follow-up care wherever you live. As part of our mission to provide whole-person care, we're here to not only heal your body. We want to help ease your mind and minister to your spirit, as well.
