AdventHealth for Children Headache Center

The only program of its type in Central Florida, AdventHealth for Children’s Headache Center provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and treatment of all types of pediatric headaches. We combine the knowledge of board-certified pediatric neurologists along with a neuropsychologist, physical
therapists, nurse practitioners and medical assistants.

For each patient, our multidisciplinary team collects a detailed history and performs a comprehensive neurologic examination to determine the appropriate next steps for diagnosis that may include imaging, lab work or lumbar puncture. We then create individualized care plans that address determination of treatment for acute headache episode, preventive treatment and education on lifestyle adjustment. In addition, psychological intervention is offered and focuses on teaching our young patients and their families skills to improve coping with headaches as well as relaxation techniques. We also offer
behavioral cognitive therapy if needed.
