Pediatric Hearing Services

Have you ever wondered if your baby can hear after leaving the hospital? Does your baby startle to loud sounds and noises? Does he or she seem to hear some sounds but not others? If your child is experiencing any of these symptoms, it may be a sign of a hearing problem. While the signs and symptoms of hearing loss can be different for every child, if you suspect a problem, it’s best to seek help sooner rather than later. We have a highly trained pediatric care network, including ENT’s, audiologists and speech pathologists to help your child feel whole again.

Parent Support Groups

Our parent support group is designed to provide parents with the tools to become their child's primary facilitator of listening and spoken language. Family support plays a crucial role in achieving successful outcomes for your child. We aim to empower all our parents to become advocates and provide information and tools to face and overcome everyday challenges. Contact our clinic at Mills Park Pediatrics for more information regarding our support groups.

Pediatric Cochlear Implant Program

Our cochlear implant program provides comprehensive support for children with hearing loss, from pre-implant evaluation through post-implant therapy. Our certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists collaborate with our surgical ENT team to help children develop listening and spoken language skills, enabling them to thrive in school and everyday life.

If our evaluation indicates that your child will not benefit from hearing aids, cochlear implantation may be a preferred treatment option. With cochlear implants, it's important to understand that not all children with severe to profound hearing loss are suitable candidates. But rest assured, we'll work closely with you to determine the treatment that best meets your child’s unique needs and your family’s communication preferences.

Research shows that early intervention can have a positive impact on development and can reduce the long-term effects of hearing loss. Our program offers support with early diagnosis, treatment, parent education classes and support groups.
