Concussion Rehabilitation

Sports Concussion Program

Return to Learn
The Return to Learn program can assist your child in transitioning back to the classroom with minimal disruptions after a concussion. The skilled team at AdventHealth Sports Med and Rehab will work with your child’s school on:

  • Educational Testing Exceptions
  • Instructional Modifications
  • Workload Adjustments

Return to Play
When your child has successfully completed the four-day, four-stage concussion assessment without any of their concussion symptoms worsening, they can return to play. When they’re officially cleared by their physician, the necessary "Return to Competition" form will be completed for their school or team.

Recognize the Signs of a Concussion

We’re dedicated to keeping kids’ brains safe. If your child takes a hit or a fall while playing sports — or just while being an active kid — keep a watchful eye. Swift treatment for concussions is important, and we want to see your child if they’re exhibiting symptoms.

Signs or symptoms of a possible concussion include the following:

  • Cognitive impairment
  • Personality change
  • Photophobia (sensitivity to light)
  • Headache
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Change in sleep pattern
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
  • Phonophobia (sensitivity to noise)
