Botox Bladder Injections

BOTOX injections can significantly help patients who suffer from bladder issues that result in a constant urge to urinate or frequent urination. When injected into the bladder, the bladder muscle can relax and reduce these impulses for a long period of time. This procedure is only done if other common medications prove ineffective in treating common urinary conditions. This is an in-patient, non-surgical procedure, meaning you will be admitted to the ward to receive treatment, but no incisions are necessary. A small telescope is inserted into the bladder through your natural passageway in order for your doctor to examine the area. The BOTOX injection is then administered through a needle that is inserted through the telescope. The bladder is then emptied after the procedure, sometimes naturally and sometimes with the use of a catheter. Unless otherwise stated by your doctor, you can eat and drink after the treatment, and you should be able to go home on the same day.
