Gynecologic Robotic Surgery

One of the fastest-growing areas of gynecologic surgery, robot-assisted techniques are increasingly being used in the treatment of ovarian tumors, pelvic prolapse, bleeding disorders, fibroids, endometriosis and more, with myomectomies (fibroid removal) and hysterectomies (uterus removal) especially high on the list. Robotic surgery is conducted by a surgeon who sits at a computer console that controls laparoscopic instruments within the patient using robotic arms. This minimally invasive technology eliminates hand tremor, improves precision and enables greater visualization and maneuverability for the surgeon while allowing for smaller incisions, less post-operative pain and a quicker recovery times for patients.
