Gastric Ulcers
Once thought to be caused by stress or spicy foods, we now know that these painful sores that develop in the lining of your stomach are actually caused by pain medication or bacteria. Our gastroenterologists have experience screening patients for common gastric ulcer symptoms, such as bloating, burping, lack of appetite, weight loss, nausea, blood or dark stool and vomiting. You may also need imaging tests, such as X-rays or ultrasounds, or a minimally invasive endoscopy. During this procedure, your physician will insert a small, flexible tube with a camera attached to capture images of the inside of your stomach and identify any ulcers. Sometimes, ulcers can heal on their own. But if you continue to experience symptoms, your gastroenterologist will create a plan that helps you feel your best. Find a provider near you and let’s get started.
