Emergency Medicine
Doctors who are trained in emergency medicine are prepared to provide life-sustaining measures such as trauma resuscitation, advanced cardiac life support, advanced airway management and immediate treatment for poisonings as well as pre-hospital care and disaster preparedness. Our physicians often perform in-hospital rounds and provide both emergency and specialty care to patients within AdventHealth facilities, but they also routinely provide advanced outpatient clinical services within our primary care (internal medicine and family medicine) practices as well. From suturing a laceration to addressing a fractured bone or dislocated joint and performing minor surgeries, our well-trained physicians frequently provide in-office care that allows patients to avoid a trip to the ER. NOTE: You should always call 911 and/or proceed to your nearest emergency room when a serious and/or life-threatening injury or illness occurs.
